Gender pay gap (Report 2026)
Birds (Derby) Limited is fully committed to equality and highly values the skills and experience of our talented workforce. Our culture of long service reflects our dedication to fostering a fair and supportive work environment.
When reviewing our gender pay analysis, based on data as at April 5th 2025, it is important to note that the company does not differentiate in pay between men and women for the same or equivalent roles.
We employ over 700 people, with a significant proportion of our workforce being female employees working part-time across our retail outlets. As a result, the distribution of employees in the lower & lower middle pay quartiles (90% of whom are women) influences our overall gender pay figures - an industry norm in the retail sector.
Within our upper pay quartile we have a 51/49% split of men and women, highlighting that within our bakery operations and retail stores, pay structures are clearly defined based solely on skills and capability.
As always, we remain dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining the most talented and highly skilled individuals.
