Gender pay gap (Report 2025)
Birds (Derby) Limited is fully committed to equality and highly values the skills and experience of our talented workforce. Our culture of long service reflects our dedication to fostering a fair and supportive work environment.
When reviewing our gender pay analysis, based on data from April 5, 2024, it is important to note that the company does not differentiate in pay between men and women for the same or equivalent roles.
We employ over 650 people, with a significant proportion of our workforce being female employees working part-time across our 61 successful retail outlets. As a result, the distribution of employees in the lower pay quartile (96% of whom are women) influences our overall gender pay figures—an industry norm in the retail sector.
Currently, 58 of our 61 shop managers are female, and within our bakery operations, pay structures are clearly defined based solely on skills and capability.
Since these figures were recorded, our senior management team has expanded and now consists of three female and five male leaders. Additionally, we have introduced a Junior Leadership Team structure, comprising five female and four male members.
As always, we remain dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining the most talented and highly skilled individuals.
