Birds Bakery brings family flavour to wedding market

Birds Bakery has launched a new range of wedding favours – and they are already going down a treat with brides and grooms across the East Midlands.

The bakery, which has been providing sweet and savoury goodies to the region for over a century, has launched the new range at the same time as the UK experiences a wedding surge of 205% compared to previous years.

As part of the Celebrate With Birds range, happy couples can fully personalise their wedding favours, picking everything from the type of chocolate used, shape and flavours, to the box or bag, colour of ribbon and bespoke sticker added to the packaging.

Early favourites include classic chocolate mice and unicorn cupcakes. Other options include chocolate hearts on a shortbread base, macarons in a selection of colours and building block pairs made entirely of chocolate for couples who have found their missing piece.

Birds’ handcrafted Belgian chocolate comes in a variety of flavours, including milk, dark, white, ruby, gold caramel and strawberry.

Commenting on the launch of the new range, Mike Holling, sales and marketing director at Birds Bakery, said:

“We’re proud to have been part of people’s lives in the East Midlands for well over 100 years, helping provide lunchtime essentials, weekend treats and catering for parties and special events like the Jubilee. It’s great that we can now extend that to the most special of occasions – weddings!

“Our excellent team of bakers have worked hard to develop a range that can be fully customised, making each favour really personal.

“So many people had to postpone wedding celebrations during the pandemic. It’s great to see so many couples now being able to have their big day and we’re excited to be helping them add a little indulgence for their guests.”

Wedding favour prices start from £2.50, with discounts available for those who order more than 100 favours and various delivery and collection options are available dependent on postcode and date. A full list of flavours and shapes can be found online on our catering occasions page.
