FAQs
Do you have questions? Some of our more popular questions are answered below. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please contact us.
  • Bread

Although you will never beat the quality of freshly baked bread, it will keep in the freezer for 3 to 6 months, but the flavour and quality will deteriorate after around one month.

  • Can any of our other products be frozen?

Whilst the quality of our products is best enjoyed fresh, there are a few products which can be kept in the freezer: Sausage rolls, cheese and onion rolls, steak and ale pies, sausages, pork pies, large pies and quiches.

Ensure these are all defrosted in the fridge.

  • Cobs, rolls and teacakes

Wrap these in smaller quantities. Taking out only what you need is easier than the whole pack. It will also save that valuable freezer space.

  • Defrosting

Remove the product from the freezer, defrost it at room temperature and keep it in its packaging until it reaches room temperature. This allows the moisture to be reabsorbed back into the bread.

  • Loaves

Pre-slice the loaf and pack smaller numbers of slices together; it is easier to take out only what you need rather than the whole pack. It will also save that valuable freezer space.

  • Reheating products

Our pies may be reheated (if frozen, ensure they are thoroughly defrosted before reheating).

For best results, loosely cover them with foil and bake them in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 180°C. Alternatively, put them in the microwave for 2-3 minutes.

Ensure the products are piping hot in the middle before serving. If not, pop them back in until they are.

Times and temperatures may vary depending on equipment.

  • Wrapping products for the freezer

When wrapping products for the freezer, wrap them tightly in cling film, freezer bags, or freezer-safe zip-lock bags. Try to minimise any air in the bags to prevent freezer burn.
